Volunteer Opportunities at Tufts Library

If you would like to be a volunteer shelver in the Children's Room of the Tufts Library, you've come to the right place! 

Shelving: Return carts of books to the shelves in their proper order. This is a very important task that should be done carefully with your full attention. Items are shelved in either alphabetical or numerical order.

Shelf Reading: If all of the books have been shelved, you will spend your time making sure that all of the shelves are in order. You will remove any books that are out of order and put them in their proper place.

In order to be considered for this position, you must first pass an online assessment. We ask for a commitment of at least 10 hours per year for this position. This is a Weymouth High School approved Community Service position.

Summer 2024 : Read to Bead - Bead Banker : You will be working directly with children who are participating in our Read to Bead program. Your main duties will be helping the children choose beads they've earned by tracking their time reading this summer.
